John Denver was a superstar singer who touched millions through his songs of pop-folk, many of which were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was raised in Roswell New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado. The singer-songwriter eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's state anthems have inspired many to visit Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says it is true that John Denver is unlike any other musician who represents Colorado. Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its the first member in 2011. He is now Colorado's international image. People you meet in other nations, for instance New Zealanders and tell them "I am from Colorado" and they immediately react with "Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time with folk bands which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff originally wrote it with Johnny Cash's music with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver knew from the first time he heard the earlier versions that it was going to be an instant hit. The song was recorded within a couple of days of performing at Washington D.C. before an audience that was very enthusiastic.
